ATM was selected to provide full-service marina engineering and coastal engineering consulting for a large private development near San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. Our first task was the completion of a comprehensive marina market assessment to hopefully validate a preliminary marina layout. Following this, ATM developed a detailed economic proforma based on market forces uncovered through a study of the regional and southern California marina market.
Based on the financial and market forecasts, we redesigned the harbor to improve efficiencies, create more waterfront property, and optimize marina operations and user compatibilities. The final plan includes over 500 wet slips purposefully segregated and sited to optimize their user’s experience within the 50+ acre basin. Working closely with the Mexican project team, ATM developed marina design criteria and specifications for floating docks and fine-tuned utilities, revised excavation plans, and provided a technical peer review for over 2,500 linear feet of entrance jetties protecting the new inner harbor and connecting it with the Sea of Cortez.
