Project Overview

In an effort to reduce surface water discharge of treated effluent due to effluent limitations and the desire to conserve water, the City of Neptune Beach retained ATM to develop an effluent reuse program. ATM assisted the City with the implementation of a phased reclaimed water treatment and distribution system. To meet public access reuse requirements, ATM provided engineering and design services to upgrade the chlorine contact chamber to provide high level disinfection and install a stainless steel disc filter. To provide for over 30,000 gpd of reclaimed water, ATM also designed reuse storage and high service reuse pumps. After completion of effluent improvements, ATM designed the initial phase of reuse that provided for 5,000 gpd on City-owned properties with future phases serving rights-of-way and residential properties within one half mile of the WWTP.
