ATM supported DTJ Design in the development of concept planning related to a proposed marina resort development in the BVI. We initially participated in a site assessment and team workshop, and provided conceptual design of various marina layout options, edge treatments, and a feasibility assessment for a marine service yard. The project team worked closely together to synthesize the owner’s requirements related to view corridors, water and landside uses, aesthetics, and the local environment. ATM followed on with developing imagery of marina elements to assist the project team and developer with selection of aesthetic preferences and options.
ATM was then retained to provide detailed planning and engineering design support for the selected marina concept. The marina includes ~ 80 vessels ranging from 30 to 100+ ft, with dedicated catamaran and superyacht berths, wave protection, and dockside utilities. Work to date has included numerical wave modeling, site exposure analysis, coordination of geotechnical investigations, preliminary design of marina floating docks, shoreline stabilization, and marina utilities.
