As the District Engineer, ATM coordinated the annual Jupiter Inlet South Beach Renourishment. ATM prepared technical plans and specifications for the maintenance dredging and subsequent beach renourishment. We also provided the District with bid document assistance, contract administration, and construction management services.
Our team designed the 175-foot extension of the south jetty of the Jupiter Inlet. A series of six preliminary designs were developed and reviewed by the Board of Commissioners and the public during a public workshop. The south jetty extension needed to serve not only as an erosion control device, but also needed to be fisherman friendly. Considerations were incorporated into the final design which provided a stable and safe fishing platform for the community.
ATM prepared engineering and water quality assessments associated with the development of a comprehensive management plan for the Loxahatchee River Estuary. Project included assessments of historic flow and sedimentation patterns, recommendations for future dredging and spoil disposal, and salinity control for improvements of recreational use of the estuary and preservation of natural resources.
