Drystack building

Project
Summary
ATM was engaged to create a development plan for a wetslip and
dry storage marina in Little River, SC (75+ wetslips—long-term and
transient—and 300-boat drystack). From a regulatory perspective, the
site was challenging as the proposed basin crossed approximately 800
feet of wetland.
ATM developed a plan to create basin bulkheads with a cap elevation
that allowed tidal exchange with the adjacent Spartina marsh, yet
maintained navigable depths. The marsh sits on the outside of both
shore perpendicular bulkheads that extend a total of approximately
2,000 linear feet.
ATM designed the stormwater program and the mitigation programs
which led the resource agencies to grant regulatory permission for
the facility. The dry storage was 100% occupied within six months of
opening and wetslips soon thereafter.
